Gutierrez's Nut Flush Eliminates Guglietti on the First hand of the Day

Roughly 1,200 had gone in preflop between Gutierrez and Guglietti. The dealer fanned the flop of 5?7?6?. Guglietti bet and Gutierrez called.

The turn was a possible flush-completing 10?. Guglietti check-called a bet of 3,000 from Gutierrez.

On the 8x river, Guglietti shoved all in for his remaining chips. Gutierrez took a look back at his cards before making the call.

Day 1b of the 2024 WSOP Main Event Kicks Off at Noon

Today is Day 1b of Event #81: $10,000 WSOP Main Event No-Limit Hold’em World Championship at the 2024 World Series of Poker. The action kicks off at 12 p.m. local time for the second of four opening flights hosted at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.

Last year's champion, Daniel Weinman kicked things off yesterday by announcing the famous words, "Shuffle Up and Deal." A total of 915 players came out for Day 1a, and after five levels of play, 620 maneuvered their way through to Day 2abc which will take place on Sunday, July 7.

The United States' Joshua Feiger topped the chip counts after Day 1a with 311,900. However, two-time bracelet winner Frank Funaro is close behind with 265,000 in chips. Phil Galfond managed to sneak into the top 40 on the leaderboard, ending the day with 182,700.

Other notable players returning on Sunday include Kevin Gerhart (150,700), Bryce Yockey (149,000), 2007 Main Event champion Jerry Yang (118,800), Aleksejs Ponakovs (111,600), Parker Talbot (106,700), and five-time bracelet winner Michael Mizrachi (74,000).

Players will start with 60,000 chips, and each of the initial flights will complete five 120-minute levels before the remaining players bag their chips for the night. Breaks are scheduled after each level, with a 75-minute dinner break planned after Level 3. Survivors from Day 1b will merge with those from 1a and 1c on Sunday, July 7, for Day 2abc.

Registration will stay open through the first two levels of Day 2, and no reentries are permitted for this freezeout event. The tournament spans two weeks, wrapping up with the final day of play scheduled for Wednesday, July 17th.
