Long Tank Pays Off for Timothy Gray

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Timothy Gray opened with a raise to 30,000 from middle position. To his immediate left was Kam Low, who decided to reraise for 92,000. Action folded back to Gray and he fell deep into the tank, where he stayed for several minutes.

"Sorry guys," Gray said a couple minutes into his tank. "I just have to think about this."

Gray stared intently at Low for about 30 seconds before he finally announced that he was all in. Low quickly called.

Gray: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Low: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The flop put Gray in the lead when it came {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, but it also gave him a sweat as it brought Low a flush draw. Low bricked out on the {4-Hearts} turn and {9-Diamonds} river though, and Gray earned the double-up.

"Sorry guys, it was just a lot to think about with the pay jump happening," Gray said after the hand. "I mean, it's an extra $1,500, so why not wait?"

And Gray's tank did pay off in more ways than one, not only earning him the double-up, but the payout jump as well.
