Sallot Avoids a Monster?

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

The player in the cutoff raised to 2,100 and was called by Steve Sallot in the small blind.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}, and Sallot bet out 3,600. His opponent then moved all in. Sallot had 17,500 behind and was covered by the bet. He thought for a minute before releasing his hand.

"You saved yourself a lot of money," said Sallot's opponent after the hand.

"If you had a set, then yeah," Sallot said. "I had ace-queen," he added.

"That's a strong laydown," said Sallot's opponent.
