Artem Babakhanyan Doubles Through James Calderaro

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante
Artem Babakhanyan
Artem Babakhanyan

With about 400,000 already in the middle and the board reading {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, James Calderaro bet 200,000 from the big blind into his lone opponent, Artem Babakhanyan, who was under the gun. Babakhanyan moved all in for 715,000, and after a few moments of thought, Calderaro called to put Babakhanyan at risk.

Calderaro: {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Babakhanyan: {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Both players held straights, but Babakhanyan had the best of it with the ten-high straight against Calderaro's eight-high straight. The {8-Diamonds} river changed nothing, and Babakhanyan took the pot to double up.

Taylor Doubles Through Rybin

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Esther Taylor raised to 400,000 first to act, and Alexey Rybin called from the button. On the {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, Taylor bet the pot, and Rybin moved all in. Taylor called all in for 970,000.

Esther Taylor: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Alexey Rybin: {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}

"Flush draw," Rybin said to his Russian rail, and they saw the board complete with the {3-Spades} turn and {5-Diamonds} river.

Taylor doubled and climbed to third in chips, while Rybin took a small hit to his stack and dropped to around half of the total chips in play.

Taylor Loses Some

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Esther Taylor had just over 1,000,000 chips to start the hand and raised from under the gun to 400,000. James Calderaro called from the small blind, and the two players saw a flop of {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. They both checked.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds}, and Calderado bet 800,000, putting Taylor to a decision for the remainder of her stack. After a few moments of thought, she folded.

Calderaro Shows Up Late

Level 27 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Alexey Rybin raised to 300,000, and Esther Taylor called in the big blind. The flop came {Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}, and both players checked. After the {10-Diamonds} turn, Taylor checked, and Rybin bet 300,000 to win the pot.

Artem Babakhanyan raised to 300,000 on the button and flashed {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}. Babakhanyan also showed pocket queens twice when he received walks, while more than 10 minutes in the new level had passed without any major action.

After 13 minutes of the new level, James Calderaro casually strolled in with a smile on the face and no sense of urgency. "Did you guys already blind me out?" he joked while he took the empty seat.

Babakhanyan has chipped up slightly, but he and Taylor remain at the bottom of the counts.

Level 26 : 50,000/100,000, 0 ante

James Calderaro won several medium-sized pots to close out the level, the last of which he raised to 300,000 from the cutoff, and Alexey Rybin called from the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, and Rybin check-called 300,000 from Calderaro to see the {Q-Spades} turn. Both checked, the {9-Diamonds} river completed the board, and Rybin checked to Calderaro, who bet 700,000. Rybin folded, and Calderaro took the last pot of the level.
