Doumani Takes From Mitri

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Michael Doumani pumped it up to 32,000 from the hijack and small blind George Mitri responded with a three-bet to 60,000, which Doumani called to take play heads-up to a flop of {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

Mitri continued to tell the tale of a big hand and fired for 45,000 and after a little time in the tank, Doumani made the call once more to bring in the {q-Hearts} turn.

Mitri took a little longer over his bet sizing, eventually opting to make it 80,000 only to see Doumani make a quick shove. Mitri put his hands on his head as he thought it over for several minutes before eventually electing to fold.

"You had king-jack right Mike?" quizzed Mirti.

Doumani obligingly flashed him {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} - "Only for you George," Doumani responded before raking in a tasty pot.

Attenborough's Straight Flush

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Honglin Jiang raised to 27,000 from middle position and was called by Adrian Attenborough in the hijack and Ehsan Amiri in the cutoff.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Jiang checked. Attenborough bet 32,000. Amiri then Jiang called.

The turn brought the {9-Clubs} and the action checked to Amiri who bet 55,000. Jiang snap-folded. Attenborough came along.

Both players then checked after the {4-Diamonds} completed the board.

Attenborough then tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a straight flush and the winning hand.

Amiri Takes From Abdine

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

A sizable pot played out between Shivan Abdine and Ehsan Amiri that saw the latter climb up to third in the pecking order. It was Abdine the initial raiser, making it 25,000 to go from the hijack, with Amiri the only caller in the big blind.

The {10-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Spades} flop saw Amiri check, Abdine bet 22,000 and Amiri make the call to bring in the {a-Spades} turn. The same betting pattern repeated, with Amiri checking, Abdine betting 47,000 and Amiri making the call once more.

The {9-Clubs} river saw Amiri check for a third time and Abdine decided to bet out 80,000 with Amiri making a quick call. Abdine showed {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Amiri won the pot with {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} to climb to 860,000 in chips, while Abdine dropped to 866,000.

Charlie Hawes raised to 25,000 from the hijack and was called by Marc Camphausen on the button as well as George Mitri in the big blind.

All three players checked the {2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop before the {j-Clubs} dropped on the turn.

Mitri checked. Hawe bet out 35,000. Camphausen raised to 90,000. Mitri quickly folded. Hawes followed shortly after.

Tam Truong Eliminated in 10th Place (AU$18,970/$12,840)

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Tam Truong
Tam Truong

The final table is set with the elimination of Tam Truong, who fell at the hands of Ehsan Amiri to bring the field down to nine. Amiri lit the fuse with an under-the-gun raise to 20,000, Geroge Mitri called from one seat over, Adrian Attenborough then called from the button and Michael Doumani called in the small blind.

Sitting in the big blind, Truong pulled the trigger for 92,000 in total and Amiri now had a decision to make. Eventually, he elected to just flat call and both Mitri and Attenborough folded. Doumani looked like he was tempted, but did not want to flip with two players and eventually folded - telling PokerNews after the hand he had pocket fives.

Now the action was heads-up both players revealed their hole cards and Truong was on his feet awaiting his fate.

Tam Truong: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Ehsan Amiri: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The runout came {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} to give both players a piece, but unfortunately for Truong, his was not as good as Amiri's and he hit the rail in tenth, narrowly missing out on making a final table appearance.

Vincent Huang Eliminated in 11th Place (AU$18,970/$12,840)

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Vincent Huang
Vincent Huang

Shivan Abdine raised to 20,000 from under the gun before Vincent Huang moved all in for 245,000 from the cutoff. The action folded back to Abdine, who took one extra glance down at his cards, then called.

Abdine: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Huang: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Huang stood up from his chair as soon as the flop came {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts} after Abdine improved to a set of jacks.

The {a-Hearts} on the turn gave Hunag some life, but the {2-Clubs} on the river wouldn't help, resulting in Huang being eliminated in 11th place.

Patrick Laoyont
Patrick Laoyont

James Obst raised to 20,000 from the cutoff and was called by Patrick Laoyont in the big blind.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Laoyont moved all-in for his remaining 35,000. Obst snap-called.

Obst: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Laoyont: {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Obst had flopped top pair and had the lead against Laoyont who had bottom pair.

No help would come for Laoyont, as the board ran out the {7-Diamonds} and {8-Diamonds}, ultimately ending his run in 12th place.
