Cards are in the air yet again, Daniel Negreanu is complaining that his leg may be broken and he's handling it wonderfully, the short stacks are reinvigorated by dinner, or suffering the sleepiness which can sometimes follow it...

Recently entering the undesired Short Stack category is Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott. Just before dinner he played a pot against Kenna James which brought him an unwelcome river card. I caught the hand from when Devilfish was betting 2k on a {10-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {K-Spades} {2-Diamonds} board, called by an in-position James.

The river brought the {10-Spades} , a check from Devilfish, and a bet of 2,400 from James. Devilfish toyed with his chips before reluctantly calling. He was shown {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts} which had leaped ahead of his {A-?} {K-?} . A bit of a mutter ensued, in which I heard, "Good call.." and "Can't believe the f*** dealing," but it wasn't really aimed at anyone in particular.
