Speranza Rivered

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

At least that's what we assume when Romain Matteoli turned over the winning hand on the river. The hand played out as following.

The flop was {8-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Spades} when day one chipleader Alessandro Speranza checked to Matteoli who bet 1,800. Speranza called quickly and the turn was the {5-Clubs}. Speranza check-called a 3,500 bet that got us to see the {Q-Spades} on the river. For the third consecutive time Speranza checked and Matteoli bet 5,000. The Italian tanked for close to a minute and than called to see that Matteoli had rivered a pair of queens, he showed {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Speranza mucked and was left behind with around 25,000 chips. Matteoli is looking healthy with 45,000 chips.
