Tarcisio Bruno Eliminated in 3rd Place (67,281)

Tarcisio Bruno - 3rd Place
Tarcisio Bruno - 3rd Place

From the button, Tarcisio Bruno raised to 50,000. Action moved to Gianluca Speranza in the big blind and he announced that he was all in. Bruno quickly called and created a pot over one million in chips.

Speranza: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Bruno: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came down {K-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Bruno's tens stayed in front. The turn was the {Q-Clubs} and added a gutshot straight draw for Speranza. The river landed with the {A-Diamonds} and smacked Speranza with "an ace from space" to give him the win.

Speranza is now heads up with Andrew Hinrichsen and we'll have the official chip counts coming for you shortly.

Mucking the Winner

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

On the turn of a {10-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {5-Hearts} {10-Clubs} board, we joined the action as Gianluca Speranza put out a bet of 48,000 into a pot of just more than that. His opponent, Andrew Hinrichsen, took pause, then raised the minimum to 96,000. Speranza made the call.

The {Q-Hearts} arrived on the river, and the two men were content to check it down. At showdown, Speranza just went ahead and mucked, and that was probably a mistake. You have to show two cards to win the pot in WSOP events, and Hinrichsen reluctantly turned over his airball {6-Spades} {7-Hearts} in order to claim the chips.

You should have seen the look on Speranza's face.

Hinrichsen In Trouble

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

When Tarcisio Bruno folded his button, Andrew Hinrichsen open-shoved his last 289,000 into the pot from the small blind. In the big, Gianluca Speranza peeked down at {A-Hearts} {10-Spades} and made the quick call, and he was pleased to see that he had his opponent's {9-Hearts} {10-Hearts} in awfully bad shape.

The {K-Hearts} {4-Spades} {3-Hearts} flop was a good miss for the Aussie, earning him a flush draw and another eight outs to the double.

Turn: {2-Hearts}

That's even better. Hinrichsen made his flush, but there was still some sweating to do as he now needed to fade the remaining hearts to avoid being overflushed.

The river was a safe {5-Spades}, though, and Hinrichsen has thusly doubled up to 584,000. He's not done fighting yet.

If At First You Don't Succeed

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

From the small blind, Andrew Hinrichsen raised to 33,000, and big blind Gianluca Speranza came along to the flop.

It brought {7-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {6-Hearts}, and Hinrichsen continued out with another 35,000 chips. Speranza shot a glance and made the call, and the {2-Diamonds} landed on fourth street. There was no slowing down from the Aussie now, and a second bet worth 65,000 was good enough to drag the pot.

Speranza Gets Big Action

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

On the turn of a {2-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} board, Gianluca Speranza put out a bet of 60,000, and Tarcisio Bruno called instantly. That brought them to the {4-Clubs} river, and Speranza had wide eyes. He reached behind his towers and slid out a huge bet of 285,000. Once again, the call came instantly.

Speranza tabled {J-Spades} {2-Hearts} for the flopped full house, and we got to see the hand that called him as Bruno laid his inferior {Q-Spades} {5-Spades} on the felt.

After that exchange, the Italian is down to about 580,000, while Speranza climbs all the way up to about 1.5 million.

From the button, Tarcisio Bruno raised to 35,000. Andrew Hinrichsen three-bet to 78,000 from the small blind and Bruno quickly called.

The flop came down {J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {5-Diamonds} land on the turn. Both players checked again. The river then completed the board with the {K-Hearts} and Hinrichsen checked. Bruno quickly bet 95,000. Hinrichsen paused, then folded and Bruno won the pot.
