Zisimopoulos With a Big Call

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

"Stop taking my money Pierre," Carlo Savinelli grinned after having just lost a minor pot against the Belgian. Right after, Oleksandr Shcherbak raised to 48,000 and Neuville called from the small blind, as did Georgios Zisimopoulos in the big blind.

The flop fell {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Neuville checked, Zisimopoulos bet 40,000 and Neuville was the only caller. Both checked through the {10-Clubs} turn before the {Q-Clubs} river brought a possible four card straight. Neuville bet 210,000 and that sent Zisimopoulos into the think tank, as the betting amount represented half of his remaining stack.

"I have a big hand," Zisimopoulos said in table chat while Neuville just smiled back. It needed some further consideration and the Greek eventually called. Neuville rolled over {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Zisimopoulos had that beat with {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for two pair to rake in a vital pot.
