Nitsche's Straight is No Good

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Stefan Nemetz raised to 6,000 in middle position and Dominik Nitsche called from the big blind. The flop came {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Nitsche led out for 7,000. Nemetz called and the {8-Spades} landed on the turn.

Nitsche led out for another bet of 10,000 but Nemetz still called to see the {k-Hearts} on the river. Nitsche fired another small bet of 13,000 and Nemetz quickly made the call. Nitsche turned over {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for an eight-high straight but Nemetz held {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a nine-high straight.
