There were 244 players that began the day from a field of 1,011 initial entries, and 152 of them would finish in the money. It was Hagay Kraus who busted as the bubble, moving all-in on a paired board with a pair of queens, while Simone Marconi held a better two pair with pocket kings.
Many familiar faces showed up for day 2 but got eliminated before the money such as Sofia Lovgren, Phil Hellmuth, Robert Campbell, Martin Kabrhel and Michael Magalashvili.
The bustouts went fast and furious and notables were lost along the way today, including Timur Margolin (144th for 465), Day 1b chipleader Elena Litvinyuk (113th for 485), Erik Cajelais (76th for 615), Allen Kessler (62th for 783) and Pierre Neuville (24th for 1,538).
End of The Day Action
The action was intense and only 47 players made it to the dinner break. The tournament was down to the last two tables about two hours after the play restarted. Ismael Bojang, the winner of the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha last summer, was eliminated in 14th Place in an unlucky hand versus Norbert Mosonyi, holding pocket jacks against pocket eights. Mosonyo found a set on the flop and Bojang went to the cashier to collect his (2,363) payday. He was followed a few minutes later by Justin Frolian ( 13th for 2,363) and Joerg Baumgarten (12th for 2,996).
Krzysztof Jaguscik was down to slightly over one big blind after a succession of hands, including a big all-in preflop pot with ace-queen against pocket tens for Mykhailo Hryhoriev, who doubled up through him and left him with crumbs. Jaguscik eventually put his last chips in the middle with king-four and was against Bensimhon with queen-five, who found a queen on the board right before the players bag their chips.
