Lukas Pazma outlasted a field of 3,503 to win this event last year, taking home his first WSOP bracelet and 120,350. Hes back for another shot at the title and takes 396,000 into Day 2. Other notables still in the hunt include Marius Gicovanu (429,000), Martin Kabrhel (191,000), Eusebiu Jalba (180,000), Dave Stann (144,000), and Tobias Peters (67,000).
The action picks up on Level 19 with blinds of 4,000-8,000 and an 8,000 big blind ante. Levels are 40 minutes long, with a 20-minute break after every three levels. The average stack at the start of the day is worth just 24 big blinds, so the pace of eliminations should be fast from the outset. The schedule calls for play to last until there are six players remaining who will return for the final table tomorrow.
The annual tradition that began in 2007 is here again, and PokerNews will be providing live updates throughout the day.
