Three-Way Flush Draw Makes For Big Pot

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
David Stamm
David Stamm

A player in early position opened to 800 and received calls from Hossein Ensan in late position, Raj Ramakrishnan from the cutoff and David Stamm on the button as well as both blinds.

Action checked to the early position player on a flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and he continued for 2,000. Ensan folded while Ramakrishnan called. Stamm then shoved for around 13,000, which got the blinds to fold. The early position player then re-jammed with the larger stack and Ramakrishnan called off for his tournament life.

David Stamm: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Raj Ramakrishnan: {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Early Position Player: {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

In a wildly improbable turn of events, all three players had flopped flush draws, with Ramakrishnan holding the best draw while Stamm had the opportunity to make a straight flush as well as being ahead with a pair of eights. The early position player, meanwhile, had an open ended straight draw, which was effectively his only hope of winning the pot.

With all three players blocking each other's draws, it was little surprise that no further clubs found their way onto the felt on the {q-Diamonds} turn or {q-Hearts} river. Remarkably, Stamm got a full triple-up with queens and eights while Ramakrishnan scooped a significant sidepot with king high, leaving the early position player short.
