Chip Confusion Costs Schulman

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player in the cutoff opened to 1,700 and Joe Schulman on the button as well as the big blind called to send action three-way to the flop.

The big blind checked on a flop of {2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and the cutoff continued for 1,300. Schulman called while the big blind folded.

On the {k-Diamonds} turn the cutoff fired off another bet, this time a chunkier 5,500. After some consideration, Schulman put 1,500 into the pot, having confused the orange T-1000 chips with the pink T-5000 chips. After being informed of the error, Schulman did put the required 5,500 into the pot.

After the {8-Diamonds} river the cutoff, perhaps working on the assumption that Schulman had only called the turn bet because of its perceived smaller size, bet out 15,000 which was met by an instantaneous fold.
