With July just ended, several players can look back with fond memories of PokerStars, having closed out the month with big scores. Among those to lock up first-place finishes on Sunday were Ruben "rubenrtv" Visser, Chris "d0r1t0s" McClung, and Ji? "horyna" Hor?ek. Also taking place on Sunday was the rare nine-handed deal.

PokerStars Sunday Million ($1M Guaranteed)

Buy-inEntrantsPrize Pool
$200+$156,811$1,362,200

The Sunday Million's numbers were up for the fifth straight week and the attendance is creeping toward 7,000. With ten players remaining, the biggest name left in the field was Fabrizio "SixthSenSe19" Gonzalez, who, unfortunately, was eliminated on the final-table bubble. On the short stack with A?J?, Gonzalez got it in against "JoaoCastro91's" K?8?. The flop fell K?8?3? to leave Gonzalez drawing thin, finding no help on the turn, and drawing dead to the river.

When play reached heads-up between "jclever16" and "PSMozak", a key hand shifted control in one direction. The blinds were 400,000/800,000 and "jclever16" started the action with a min-raise on the button. "PSMozak" called from the big blind and the flop came down K?K?8?. With a check-raise in mind, "PSMozak" made it 2,400,000 to go after "jclever16" bet 800,000. The latter, however, put in a re-raise to 4,800,000. "PSMozak" called to see the 2? turn and then checked. A bet of 5,600,000 came from "jclever16" with "PSMozak" calling, landing the 3? on the river. "PSMozak" fired 8,000,000, but "jclever16" moved all-in for a little more than 20,000,000. A call from "PSMozak" revealed K?Q? for trips, but it was run down by "jclever16's" 10?6? for a flush. The match ended shortly thereafter with "jclever16" taking it down.

PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up ($500K Guaranteed)

Buy-inEntrantsPrize Pool
$200+$153,274$654,800

Although the Sunday Warm-Up had a small drop in attendance compared to last week, the 3,274 entrants still created a prize pool of $654,800, well above the $500,000 guarantee. The final table was a skilled one that included Aaron JeanGrae McCready and Nick "OU THE NICK" Hahn and the two met up in a big way with five players remaining. After McCready min-raised on the button, Hahn shoved from the big blind with the bigger stack. McCready called for his tournament life immediately with A?A?, well ahead of Hahn's 5?5?. However, the board ran out 10?4?3?6?7? to give Hahn a straight and eliminate McCready in fifth place for $27,829.

A deal was made between the final three players, and Hahn was next to bow out, finishing in third place. That left "P?ffchen" and "omalos" to duke it out for the title. In the end, it was "omalos" who emerged victorious. On the final hand "P?ffchen" three-bet shoved with 8?7?, but ran into "omalos'" 10?10?. The board ran out K?Q?3?8?3? to seal the deal for "omalos."
