Day 3 began with 71 players all in the money, and several big names were still in contention. Among them was Phil Laak, who began the day third in chips, and he was able to continue building his stack to move on to Day 4. Laak was quiet for most of the day, but he did manage to eliminate Lloyd Mandel in 42nd place when his A?2? held up against Q?J? after all the chips went in on a 10?9?7? flop. Laak will enter Day 4 in the middle of the pack with the hopes of earning his second title on the World Poker Tour.

Karschamroon took the chip lead midway through the day and surpassed the 2 million-chip mark after eliminating Henrik Antanesian and Darlene Lee on the same hand. According to the WPT Live Updates, Antanesian moved in for his last 20,000 (blinds 6,000/12,000/2,000) from early position, and Lee three-bet to 100,000 from the button. Karschamroon then four-bet to 340,000 from the big blind, and Lee went into the tank for several minutes before deciding to call all in.

Antanesian: 9?8?
Lee: J?J?
Karschamroon: K?K?

Karschamroon was a huge favorite, and the A?K?2? flop gave him a stranglehold on the hand. Neither the Q? turn nor the 2? river changed a thing, and Karschamroon secured the double knockout.

Karschamroon then won a big pot against Day 2 chip leader Dan Heimiller to push him past 3 million in chips. Karschamroon raised to 26,000 from early position and Heimiller called from the hijack. On the K?8?4? flop, Karschamroon bet 36,000, Heimiller raised to 101,000, and Karschamroon called. Both players checked the 7? turn, and the dealer tabled the 8? river. Karschamroon led out for 175,000 and then called after Heimiller raised to 400,000. Heimiller mucked instantly, and Karschamroon took down a pot worth more than 1 million without showing his hand.

Heimiller still managed to survive the day, finishing third in chips with more than 2 million. Joining him on Day 4 will be fellow WSOP bracelet winner Sam Barnhart and six-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Alex Masek.

Among the less fortunate who exited on Day 3 were Joe Serock (71st -$7,050), Faraz Jaka (62nd - $8,095), Ali Eslami (56th - $8,095), Jesse Yaginuma (38th - $10,210), David Daneshgar (35th - $12,155), Zo Karim (33rd - $12,155), Greg Mueller (20th - $14,340) and Matt Berkey (18th - $16,530).

Day 4 will begin at 1 p.m. PT on Tuesday, and the plan is to play down to the final six. Stay tuned to PokerNews.com as we bring you daily reports from the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles.
