$1,675 Event Kicks Off at Golden Nugget Today
Today, Friday, June 3, 2016, marks the start of Poker Night in America's $1,675 tournament at the Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas. The event will feature three starting flights over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and organizers expect the event to attract around 1,000 entries.
It's a great time in Las Vegas for poker. The 2016 World Series of Poker kicked off this week and have some big events running, but as we all know, people bust out of poker tournaments left and right. If you're playing at the WSOP and happen to bust out and are looking for another event to jump in on, this $1,675 tournament is a great event.
The final table filmed for a TV broadcast on CBS Sports, reentries will be allowed until the start of Level 11 each flight, and players begin with a healthy 30,000 in tournament chips and blinds at 50/100. Levels on the Day 1s are 40 minutes long, allowing for plenty of play. Overall, the structure is a very player-friendly one.
PokerNews will be on hand to provide coverage from the event, with the cards getting in the air on Friday at 11 a.m. local time.
PNIA has already awarded north of $2 million in its main events this year, with Rep Porter (Thunder Valley), Adam Dahlin (Canterbury Park), and Nguyet "Kim" Dao (Choctaw) among the winners.
