Koon Stunned as Sipila Wins Second Triton Title in Two Days
"Wait, he's going on the board already!?"
That was the exclamation from Jason Koon, who knows a thing or two about being a multiple Triton Poker champion, after seeing Finland's Samuli Sipila join the Triton Hall of Fame after winning his second title in the space of two days.
Sipila took down Event 15 �C $50,000 PLO for $839,000, coming from behind to defeat Nacho Barbero heads-up.

Sipila is the fourth player in Triton Poker history to win their first two titles at the same stop, joining the illustrious company of Bryn Kenney (Montenegro 2019), Tom Dwan (Madrid 2022), Michael Addamo (Madrid 2022) and Phil Ivey (London 2023).
But Sipila did something none of those players accomplished �� he won them both in Pot Limit Omaha, proving that he's a force to be reckoned with in the four-card streets for years to come.
Final Table Recap
From a field of 61 players, just eleven returned for the final day. One player, however, was not, in fact, there. Chris Parker had a flight to catch to make it to the Monte Carlo Grand Prix on Sunday, and therefore, his stack was unattended. However, he would ladder all the way to eighth place, bubbling the final table, with Ding Biao leading the final seven.
Danny Tang had already final-tabled the $100,000 PLO Main Event, finishing sixth, but he would fall in seventh here to add yet more points to his Ivan Leow Player of the Year tally.
Alex Komaromi was eliminated by fellow South American Nacho Barbero, good enough for his first-ever Triton cash, with Barbero going on a tear to follow it up by eliminating Biao in fifth place.
Three Finish players remained, but that became two when Eelis Parssinen �� another player who final-tabled the $100,000 PLO Main Event �� fell at the hands of Sipila, with Sipila rivering a flush to beat the flopped straight of his compatriot.
Barbero was still in a commanding chip lead, and even a player with the calibre of Patrik Antonius couldn't muster up too much of a fight and settled for third, bringing the contest to heads-up. The Argentinian held three-times the chips of his opponent, but it wasn't plain sailing.
The back-and-forth heads-up match was of the highest quality, with both players holding the lead at times. Barbero would move ahead, only for Sipila to double. Sipila would move ahead, with Barbero rivering a double to level things out.
Eventually, Sipila crafted a double with Q?Q?J?9? against the A?K?K?K? of Barbero, flopping a set on Q?7?2? and wrapped things up on the very next hand to win his second Triton title in two days.
