Heung Flips Well Against Shaykhov

Level 20 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Wayne Heung moved all in for 1,515,000 on the button and Irshat Shaykhov in the small blind asked for a count, then reshoved. Jiang Chen in the big blind gave it brief consideration and sent his cards into the muck.

Wayne Heung: {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Irshat Shaykhov: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Shaykhov picked up an additional gutshot on the {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} board to lost almost half of his stack.

Big Add On for Chan

Level 20 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

A raise to 215,000 by Yake Wu was called by Irshat Shaykhov in the cutoff and Jiang Chen on the button. Wai Wa Chan jammed for 1,135,000 and all his opponents folded.

Shaykhov then pulled back a few big blinds and Michael Soyza check-raised against Wu on a {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop, making it 600,000 to go. Wu had bet 175,000 and surrendered.

Up next, Soyza min-raised the button to 200,000 and Wu jammed the small blind. Huahuan Feng laughed but folded in the big blind, and Soyza also quickly folded.

The stacks are becoming more shallow now, as the average has dropped to 23 big blinds.

Jun Obara Eliminated in 8th Place (?23,240,000/$20,451)

Level 20 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Jun Obara
Jun Obara

In a battle of the blinds, Jiang Chen moved all in out of the small blind and Jun Obara called for eight big blinds from one seat over.

Jun Obara: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Jiang Chen: {a-Spades}{3-Clubs}

The {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop seemingly sealed the double for Obara, who had to fear running straight outs or running clubs. Indeed, the {q-Clubs} came on the turn to keep both those options alive. And, much to the upset of Obara, the {7-Clubs} fell on the river to send him to the rail in 8th place for ?23,240,000 ($20,451).

Hideki Izutsu Eliminated in 9th Place (?17,736,000/$15,608)

Level 20 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Hideki Izutsu
Hideki Izutsu

In the last hand of the previous level, Yake Wu pushed from under the gun for 1,065,000 and Michael Soyza in the small blind asked for a count, then folded. Hideki Izutsu reluctantly called in the big blind and they were off to the races.

Yake Wu: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Hideki Izutsu: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Wu instantly flopped a set on the board {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts} and secured the double on the turn, leaving Izutsu with 75,000. The blinds went up right after and Jun Obara shoved from late position, Izutsu called all in from the small blind.

Hideki Izutsu: {a-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Jun Obara: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Izutsu flopped best on {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, but the {j-Hearts} turn gave Obara the lead. No miracle ace appeared on the river, instead it was a blank {8-Diamonds}, and that sent Izutsu to the rail in 9th place for ?17,736,000 ($15,608).

Big Call by Soyza Rewarded

Level 19 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Michael Soyza
Michael Soyza

Michael Soyza had raised and Jun Obara came along from the big blind. Obara check-raised the {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop to 280,000 and Soyza called. Both checked the {6-Clubs} turn and Obara bet the {6-Spades} river for 510,000 after using one time bank. Soyza also used an extra 30 seconds and called.

Obara rolled over {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a bluff and Soyza had that beat with {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

Chen Doubles Through Wu

Level 19 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Jiang Chen
Jiang Chen

Jiachen Chen had jammed once, Huahuan Feng twice, and no calls followed. Then, Yake Wu raised and picked up a call from Chen in the big blind. On a {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, Chen checked and subsequently shoved into a bet of 210,000 by Wu. The all in was for 740,000 and Wu made the call.

Jiang Chen: {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Yake Wu: {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

The {j-Spades} turn gave Wu some further outs, but he bricked off on the {2-Spades} river to lose a chunk of his stack.

Obara Chips Up Through Heung

Level 19 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Wayne Heung opened to 160,000 and Jun Obara called out of the big blind. While Heung eyed the stack of his opponent, Obara immediately replied "I have 950,000 behind."

Obara checked the {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop and called a bet of 80,000. The {5-Hearts} on the turn went check, check, and Obara bet the {8-Clubs} river for 130,000. Heung called after brief consideration and mucked when Obara turned over the {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

The Jamming Begins

Level 19 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Wayne Heung built his stack slightly when he took the blinds and ante once, then he was involved in a battle of the blinds with Huahuan Feng, who limped in and folded to a shove.

Next up it was Michael Soyza who jammed into a raise by Wai Wa Chan and took down the pot preflop. Jiang Chen raised and continued on a {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop to take down a pot, jumping back above one million in chips.
