Soyza Jams Into Izutsu

Level 18 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

A raise by Hideki Izutsu was called by Irshat Shaykhov and Jiang Chen in the blinds. The {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop was checked to Izutsu and he continued for 150,000. Shaykhov check-raised to 370,000 and that forced two folds.

Soon after, Izutsu opened to 130,000 first to act and picked up two callers once more in Wai Wa Chan and Michael Soyza in the blinds. The {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop brought no betting action and Soyza led the [5d turn for 150,000, Izutsu snap-called and Chan quickly folded. Soyza jammed the {10-Diamonds} on the river and Izutsu folded.

More for Wu and Shaykhov

Level 18 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Yake Wu won a three-way pot uncontested after betting the {4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades} turn to force two folds.

Next up it was a battle of the blinds between Wayne Heung and Irshat Shaykhov with the former betting the {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} turn for 175,000, Shaykhov called. The {6-Spades} on the river brought no betting action and Heung tabled {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a pair of sixes and busted flushdraw.

Shaykhov turned over {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of sevens and Michael Soyza chimed in "glad there was no diamond, eh?" Shaykhov was taken by surprise and asked if Heung had diamonds.

Wu Takes From Heung

Level 18 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

The first bigger pot of the final table went to Yake Wu. He defended his big blind against a raise by Wayne Heung in early position and check-called a bet of 150,000 on the {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. On the {q-Diamonds} turn, Wu checked and called a second barrel for 275,000 before the duo checked the {j-Clubs} on the river.

Wu tabled {j-Spades}{8-Clubs} and that won the pot.

Wu Sends Lin to the Rail

Level 18 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Celina Lin
Celina Lin

Celina Lin moved all in for her remaining 335,000 from under the gun, Yake Wu called in the small blind and the two turned over their hands with the PokerStars Ambassador at risk of elimination.

Celina Lin: {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Yake Wu: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The flop came down {5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Lin now picked up some straight outs. A {10-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Lin would need to hit to stay alive. The {q-Hearts} on the river changed nothing as Wu's jacks took down the pot, eliminating Lin from the tournament.

Izutsu Cracks Kings; Busts Chen

Level 17 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Dong Chen
Dong Chen

Dong Chen opened to 110,000 and Hideki Izutsu three-bet to 400,000. Chen moved all in and Izutsu moved forward all his time bank chips and nodded. "This is a call, right?" Celina Lin inquired and Izutsu confirmed.

Hideki Izutsu: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Dong Chen: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The board came {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{a-Spades} and Izutsu turned a set. Both stacks were counted and it was Izutsu at risk for 1,050,000, while Chen was left with a mere 40,000. Two hands later, Chen moved all in first to act and Izutsu raised to 175,000 in the cutoff. Irshat Shaykhov called in the big blind and check-folded the {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop to a bet of 250,000.

Dong Chen: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Hideki Izutsu: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Chen could all but grin as the {8-Hearts} turn and {2-Spades} river rolled off to send him to the rail with a bad beat story to tell.

Dong Chen
Dong Chen

Dong Chen moved all in for 445,000 from the button, Celina Lin moved all in over the top from the small blind and the two turned over their hands.

Dong Chen: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Celina Lin: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The flop came down {j-Spades}{3-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and Chen is still ahead with his fours. A {6-Diamonds} falls as a turn card and Lin will need to hit to take down the pot. The {2-Diamonds} on the river changed nothing as Chen found himself a full double through Lin.
