Set Over Set Sends Cates Home
Daniel Cates entered the EPT Vienna Main Event on the second day, and in total he played for less than an hour before busting out. Most of the times, when starting the day with a small stack, options are very limited but Cates was just knocked out in a "real" hand.
As we noticed Cates exit the tournament room we asked his former opponents what went down.
Cates called a raise preflop holding pocket kings and saw a flop roll out. Cates called another bet on the flop and on the turn, when a popped up, the remainder of his chips went into the pot.
The beautiful set of kings looked very bleak when Cates' opponent tabled for a set of aces, and the river did not bring the final card in the deck that would help him out.
Later this week, on March 27, the 10,000 will be played and there's a good chance Cates will be back for that.
