Ketzer Above a Million

Level 16 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

The money bubble has slowed down the action with two shorter stacks below 20 blinds and Felipe Ketzer has made the most of it after the previous setback. He flat-called a raise by Ren Lin while on the button as both headed to the {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop. Lin checked to the chip leader, who bet 15,000 and won the pot.

Ketzer raised to 30,000 next and collected the blinds and big blind ante, leaping back above a million.

Ketzer Back in a Narrow Lead

Level 16 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Orpen Kisacikoglu raised to 30,000 and earned the blinds and big blind ante.

Felipe Ketzer then raised to 32,000 in the next hand, which won him the blinds and big blind ante as well.

Kayhan Mokri joked to Kisacikoglu that he had slightly more chips, facing an open raise by Ketzer from under the gun to 43,000 next. The Norwegian was in the big blind and gave it some consideration before folding.

One hand later, Chris Brewer opened in the hijack and Mokri came along out of the small blind. The {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop was checked by Mokri, and he folded when Brewer continued for 25,000.

Small Showdown Pot for Mokri

Level 16 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Kayhan Mokri kept his short stack afloat ever since the final table was reached and he just now min-raised to 30,000 in the cutoff. Nick Petrangelo eyeballed his stack from the other side of the table and then defended the big blind.

There was no betting action on any street of the {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{a-Diamonds} board and Petrangelo showed the {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for jack-high. Mokri had that beat with {k-Spades}{10-Spades} and won the pot, crawling back above 20 big blinds.

Petrangelo limped the next small blind and folded when Chris Brewer jammed out of the big blind.

Volkmann Eliminated by Brewer

Level 16 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Bruno Volkmann
Bruno Volkmann

Bruno Volkmann pushed all-in from the hijack and Chris Brewer on the button asked for a count.

Once it was deemed to be for 121,000, Brewer inquired "how much do you have, Orpen?" as Orpen Kisacikoglu in the big blind instantly replied "around 280k".

Brewer then flat-called and both blinds got out of the way.

Bruno Volkmann: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Chris Brewer: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades} board provided no help to Volkmann and Brewer scored the knockout with a nine-high straight, bringing the field down to the money bubble.

Small Pot for Ketzer, Volkmann Getting Short

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The action has stalled out over the last 20 minutes with the money bubble on the horizon, just two eliminations away. Felipe Ketzer opened to 25,000 in the cutoff and Nick Petrangelo defended from the big blind.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Petrangelo check-called a bet of 12,000 from Ketzer. The {4-Spades} landed on the turn and Petrangelo checked again. Ketzer reached for a bet of 109,000 and Petrangelo instantly mucked his cards.

Bruno Volkmann also just passed through the blinds and is now down to just 121,000 chips as the shortest stack.

Orpaz Busts With a Move at Wrong Time

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Tom Orpaz
Tom Orpaz

Chris Brewer opened the action with a raise to 24,000 and it folded to Tom Orpaz, who jammed for 149,000 in the hijack. Kayhan Mokri in the cutoff asked for an exact count and then shook his head after some 25 seconds of consideration, sending his cards into the muck.

It folded back to Brewer, who called and exposed his {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} already. "No, he is ahead," Orpaz immediately mentioned and then flipped over his {k-Spades}{2-Spades} as he was facing an uphill battle with a dominated kicker.

The {j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop contained one spade and potential back door straight equity but the {9-Hearts} turn as well as the {k-Hearts} river brought an end to his run in ninth place.

Ketzer's Big Stack Gets Him in Trouble

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Kayhan Mokri raised to 25,000 on the button and Felipe Ketzer used his massive stack to shove all in from the small blind. Daniel Dvoress woke up with a hand in the big blind and called off his last 415,000 chips. Mokri got out of the way and the cards were tabled.

Daniel Dvoress: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Felipe Ketzer: {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

The flop came {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} with the seven in the window but Dvoress was still ahead with his pocket tens. The {j-Clubs} and {6-Spades} runout changed nothing and Dvoress earned a big double-up to pull even with Ketzer.
