Action folded to Antonio Esfandiari on the button, and he raised to 2,600. After Marc-Andre Ladouceur folded the small blind, Timothy Adams checked his hand in the big blind, looked at Esfandiari, smiled, then called.
The flop came down , and Adams checked. Esfandiari bet 4,000, and Adams check-raised to 15,200. Esfandiari made the call.
The turn was the , and Adams bet 30,800. Esfandiari gave it up, and Adams won the pot to get back over starting stack.
Following a victory in the 25,000 High Roller here in Monaco last night for 775,400, Steven Silverman has opted to play the 100,000 Super High Roller in hopes of "running the gauntlet." Silverman was in on the High Roller for a mere 3,000 satellite.
On this hand, Silverman was involved on the board of against Viktor Blom. Blom had checked, and Silverman fired a hefty 82,500. Blom tanked for a couple minutes, then called. Silverman showed the for ace high, but Blom's proved best and he won the pot.

Like fellow Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier is coming off a final table appearance in the 10,000 Main Event from yesterday. Unlike Negreanu, though, Mercier has arrived in the 100,000 Super High Roller after a night of partying thanks to the PokerStars player party. When asked how the party was, Mercier responded by simply saying, "Sick!"
After checking the board, Mercier was faced with a bet of 17,600 from Viktor Blom. Mercier tanked, made the call, then checked the river. Blom checked behind and showed the . Mercier had him beat with the and raked in the pot.
Sam Trickett sat down and won a huge pot off Isaac Haxton on his very first hand, despite distractions from Antonio Esfandiari.
Haxton raised to 4,000 from early position and Tricket was the only caller from the hijack. As the flop fell Esfanidiari said aloud that Tricket might be the best smelling man he's ever smelt. He tried to get Philipp Gruissem over to smell him but he wasn't to be moved. Jason Mercier on the other hand was keen to smell, especially when Esfandiari offered $100 to prove he was in the top ten of best smelling men ever. Mercier then realised that Trickett was in a big hand and hovered while it played out.
Haxton continued for 7,500 and Tricket called before both players checked the turn. On the river Haxton led for a massive 50,000 before Trickett raised to 155,000. The raise took Haxton by surprise but didn't scare him from making the call. Tricket opened for a flopped full house and Haxton mucked.
Tricket then stood up and told Mercier to get in close for a smell. Mercier agreed that Tricket was a fine smelling man.
Team PokerStars Pro Johnny Lodden has decided to play the 1,000 Monaco Cup instead of the 100,000 Super High Roller but plenty of players are stil on the fence about this one. Marvin Rettenmaier, Joseph Cheong and Scott Seiver were spotted in lingering around the tournament area but so far we haven't seen them sit down. The field seems tough this year and that might be a reason for some players to hold out on grabbing a seat in this prestigious event.
"Artem, are you playing?" Dan Smith yelled to Russian pro Artem Litvinov who was standing on the rail with Ilya Gorodetskiy.
"No I'm not playing, I'm doing commentary on the stream and say how good Dan Smith is!" Litvinov yelled back as the players in the room chuckled.
Smith kept asking Litvinov about why he wasn't in this tournament and the former EPT San Remo third place finisher and player of many high roller events started to explain.
"There are only best friends here! Jason Mercier, he's my best friend. Dan Smith is my best, best friend. Philipp, he's also my best, best friend and Viktor, he's my best, best, best friend! And Phil Ivey is the legend," Litvinov carried on as everyone in the tournament started laughing.
The 100,000 Super High Roller has a very friendly atmosphere and Litvinov could still enter all the way up until the start of Day 2.
