Day 2 Completed
The most expensive tournament of the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final Barcelona has determined it's champion and it was Jake Schindler that lifted the trophy and claimed a payday of 1,750,000, defeating Stephen Chidwick in heads-up. Given the current Euro to USD rate, it is still Chidwick's best ever score for 1,100,000, which equals more than $1.3 million.
Schindler started the day as the chip leader and was never really in danger to surrender this spot until the top three were reached. Before that plenty of work was needed, as only 11 players out of a 48-entry strong field were aiming to take home a portion of the 4,656,000 prize pool. The initial guarantee of 2 million was more than doubled with 15 players taking a second short at High Roller glory.
After doubling through Jean-Noel Thorel to enter heads-up with a narrow lead, Schindler had to battle for two hours and his flopped top pair and turned straight was enough to catch Chidwick bluffing with just queen-high.

Action of the final day
Only the top six spots were paid and Koray Aldemir was the shortest stack among the finalists with nine big blinds. Aldemir were the second player to bust, setting up the unofficial nine-handed final table, following into the footsteps of fellow German High Roller regular Dominik Nitsche. Over on the outer table, Nitsche had lost a flip with sevens against the ace-jack of team partypoker's Jason Koon.
Mikita Badziakouski ran with ace-king into the pocket aces of Bryn Kenney and fell in 9th place, followed by German Sontheimer, who lost a flip with ace-king against the pocket tens of Stephen Chidwick. Two tens on the flop gave Chidwick quads to immediately lock up the hand.
On the money bubble, it was Keith Tilston that had to leave empty-handed without anything to show for. Tilston raised out of the small blind with pocket sixes and called the shove of Koon, who turned over king-seven only. However, a seven appeared on the turn and that locked up the min-cash of 240,000.
One player to be particularly happy about the outcome of that hand was short-stacked Erik Seidel, who bowed out in 6th place. His Ace-five suited ended up second-best to the ace-ten of Chidwick. Kenney followed soon after in another "death by quads" situation when he got it in with an open-ended straight draw, Schindler snap-called with middle set and spiked the case six on the turn to reduce the field to four.
Chidwick took care of the next two seat open, first winning with sixes against the pocket treys of Koon, then finishing off the work of Schindler with king-ten suited against Thorel's queen-eight. The two hour battle with a seven-figure score guaranteed ended in favor of the American and that's all she wrote.
The main focus of the festival immediately jumps to the onoing 10,300 Main Event. In the first of four flights, 338 entries emerged and the final level of the night is underway with some 105 players still in contention. Day 1B is currently in level six with 104 entries out of 140 players left, and another two starting days are to follow the day after.
The 101,000 Super High Roller has crowned a champion. After a lengthy heads up battle of more than two hours, understandable with both players starting the duel for the title with more than 100 big blinds each, Jake Schindler emerged victorious and denied Stephen Chidwick the win over on the feature table of the Casino Barcelona.
At blinds of 175,000/350,000 in level 22, Schindler raised to 875,000 and Chidwick called. On the flop, Chidwick check-called a bet of 500,000 and check-raised the turn from 1.8 million to 5.1 million. Schindler just called and the river completed a possible flush.
Chidwick moved all in and Schindler eventually called to see his opponent turn over for a bluff gone wrong, while Schindler had for the straight. Chidwick had to settle for 1,100,000 while Schindler will be posing for the winner shots shortly.
A recap of today's action is to follow.
There are only two players remaining in the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final Barcelona 101,000 Super High Roller with Jake Schindler and Stephen Chidwick to battle for the title and 1,750,000 first-place payout. A defeat still comes with a hefty prize of 1,100,000, which should help to drown the sorrows rather quickly.
Jason Koon had to settle for 4th place and 500,000 for his efforts after his three-bet shove came at the wrong time. Down to 5.975 million, he faced a min-raise by Chidwick on the button and opted to jam with only for Chidwick to call with . The board came and Koon's treys were no good.
Jean-Noel Thorel eventually finished in third place for 726,000, his best-ever result after plenty of close calls in High Roller and Super High Roller tournaments. Thorel was involved in a three-bet pot with against the of Schindler and continued for 3.0 million on the flop, Schindler called. On the turn, Schindler improved to a set and called all in to see Thorel drawing dead and down to three big blinds only, a blank river was a formality.
The very next hand Thorel was all in from the button at blinds of 100,000/200,000 and Chidwick as well as Schindler called. The flop was checked, Chidwick bet the turn to isolate successfully and turned over for top pair and the flush draw. Thorel was drawing thin with and the river even gave Chidwick a flush.
Schindler will enter heads-up play with 25.725 million, Chidwick is not far behind with 22.275 million and has locked up his best score on the live circuit already.
There are just four players remaining in the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final 101,000 Super High Roller at Casino Barcelona. The stunning top prize of 1,750,000 is still up for grabs for the two big stacks Jake Schindler and Stephen Chidwick, while team partypoker's Jason Koon and Jean-Noel Thorel are the two short stacks.
Erik Seidel had to settle for the min-cash of 240,000 when he three-bet all in out of the big blind for his last 675,000 at blinds of 70,000/140,000. Initial raiser Chidwick called and the cards were tabled.

The board came and Seidel added another six-figure score to his impressive poker resume.
Bryn Kenney became the second casualty in the money in the next level, at blinds of 80,000/160,000. He opened the action on the button with a raise to 350,000 and Jake Schindler defended his big blind to see a flop. Kenney was check-raised from 305,000 to 1.2 million and moved all in for 4.41 million to pick up a quick call.
Bryn Kenney:
Jake Schindler:
The turn and the river were of no help, instead Schindler even made quads to dispatch Kenney in style. All remaining four players now have 500,000 locked up for their efforts.
The first casualty of the last table in the 101,000 Super High Roller was Mikita Badziakouski. Soon after the unofficial final table was set, Bryn Kenney raised to 175,000 in the hijack and Badziakouski shoved for 2.64 million next to act. All opponents got out of the way, while Kenney quickly called.
Mikita Badziakouski:
Bryn Kenney:
The board came and the Belorussian was sent to the rail. In three of the four Super High Rollers, Badziakouski only used one bullet, but to no avail. Not having to fire twice "is a plus for me," he joked.
Steffen Sontheimer was the next to fall. At blinds of 60,000/120,000 he raised to 275,000 on the button and Stephen Chidwick in the small blind three-bet big to 3.0 million, forcing Kenney in the big blind out. Sontheimer moved all in for another 235,000 on top and Chidwick called with . Sontheimer had a flip with , but the "death by quads" was perfect on the flop, making the turn and river meaningless.
The bubble burst at the hands of team partypoker's Jason Koon, who sent fellow American Keith Tilston packing without anything to show for. Tilston started the day second in chips, but was down to 3.16 million at blinds of 80,000/160,000 when he limped in from the small blind. Koon shoved from the big blind for 5.025 million and Tilston called it off.
Keith Tilston:
jason Koon:
The board of improved Koon to sevens and eights, and he boosted his stack to 8.305 million and ensure at least 240,000 to all remaining six hopefuls.
The 101,000 Super High Roller is down to the last nine and the remaining hopefuls for the biggest buy-in of the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final in Barcelona have redrawn to the unofficial final table. Dominik Nitsche and Koray Aldemir were unfortunate enough to bust prior to that, while Jake Schindler has maintainted his top spot.
Aldemir doubled in one of the first hands on the feature table, while Jean-Noel Thorel built his stack on the outer table. It was then team partypoker's Jason Koon that dispatched Nitsche after winning a flip with against the of the German thanks to a board of .
Mikita Badziakouski doubled through Thorel with aces versus nines, as both players hit a set, and Erik Seidel held up with a slight kicker advantage over Jason Koon to stay in contention. Seidel's double with versus put a dent into Koon's hot start, but he is still the third biggest stack going into the unofficial final table.
