Hands #33-39: Kenney Using Big Stack to Apply Pressure

Level 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Hand 33: Ike Haxton received a walk in the big blind.

Hand 34: Ivan Luca raised to 120,000 with the {k-Spades}{8-Clubs} on the button and Bryn Kenney called with the {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} in the big blind. The {9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop saw Kenney check and Luca, who had the only club, checked behind.

The {10-Clubs} turn paired Kenney and gave Luca the flush. Kenney checked, Luca did the same, and the {7-Hearts} completed the board on the river. Kenney checked for a third time and Luca bet 450,000. Kenney, who has yet to use a time extension in this tournament (he has nine of them), mulled over the big bet and then folded.

Hand 35: Kenney moved all in with the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} in the small blind and Cary Katz folded the {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} in the big blind.

Hand 36: Haxton raised to 125,000 with the {a-Spades}{9-Spades} in the cutoff and Kenney, who looked down at the {q-Spades}{j-Hearts} on the button, moved all in. Both blinds folded and Haxton did the same.

Hand 37: Justin Bonomo received a walk in the big blind.

Hand 38: Haxton raised to 135,000 with the {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} under the gun and the big-stacked Kenney, who was next to act, moved all in with the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Everyone folded and Kenney picked up even more chips.

Hand 39: Luca picked up the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} in the small blind and he raised to 135,000. Haxton folded from the big.

Level 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Hand 27: Bryn Kenney opened under the gun for 135,000 with {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Big blind Isaac Haxton found {A-Spades}{2-Clubs} and called to see a flop of {5-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{J-Spades}. Haxton checked and Kenney, with the flush draw, checked behind.

The {6-Clubs} hit the turn and Haxton checked. Kenney, now with the flush, bet 245,000 into 360,000 and Haxton folded right away.

Hand 28: Justin Bonomo in the cutoff opened {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for 130,000. Kenney called with {Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} in the big blind and checked on {4-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Bonomo opted to bet 100,000 and Kenney folded.

Hand 29: Daniel Negreanu opened under the gun for 140,000 with just the {Q-Spades} showing and he took down the blinds and antes as everyone folded.

Hand 30: Daniel Negreanu got a walk in the big blind with {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}.

Hand 31: Bryn Kenney opened the cutoff with {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs} making it 135,000 and he took down the blinds and antes.

Hand 32: Bryn Kenney opened for the second hand in a row, this time opening {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for 135,000 under the gun plus one. Small blind Justin Bonomo called with {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, Ivan Luca called from the big blind with {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. The flop came {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Bonomo and Luca checked. With the over-pair, Kenney bet 165,000 into 465,000. Bonomo folded, Luca called.

The {7-Hearts} hit the turn but didn't slow down Kenney as he bet 415,000 as soon as Luca checked. Luca folded.

Hand 22: Action folded to Luca in the small blind and he limped with the {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. Ike Haxton, who peeked down at the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} in the big, exercised his option with a raise to 210,000 and Luca folded.

Hand 24: Bryn Kenney looked down at the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} on the button and he raised to 135,000. Daniel Negreanu was in the big blind with the {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} and he called to see the {8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop.

Negreanu checked, Kenney bet 195,000, and "Kid Poker" called to peel the {3-Hearts} turn. Negreanu checked, Kenney bet 490,000 and Negreanu folded.

Hand 25: Kenney raised to 135,000 from the cutoff with the {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Negreanu called with the {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} in the small blind. The {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts} flop paired Negreanu's ten, and he checked to Kenney, who checked behind.

Hand 16: Action folded to small blind Ivan Luca with {5-Spades}{4-Hearts} and he limped in. Big blind Isaac Haxton with the {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} raised to 180,000 and Luca folded instantly.

Hand 17: Isaac Haxton limped in from the small blind with {K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Bryn Kenney checked his big blind option with {A-Spades}{4-Spades}. The flop came {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Haxton bet 90,000 into 130,000. Kenney called.

Hand 18: Negreanu raised to 115,000 under the gun with {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Ivan Luca called from the cutoff with {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. The two biggest stacks at the table took a flop of {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Negreanu bet 75,000. Luca called rather quickly.

As the {8-Spades} hit the turn, Negreanu checked. Luca bet 185,000 into 485,000 and Negreanu folded. Luca up to over 3 million after the hand, Negreanu down to 2.5 million.

Hand 19: On the button, Bryn Kenney opened {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for 115,000. Negreanu in the big blind with {2-Spades}{2-Clubs} called and checked on {4-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Kenney was quick to check behind and he hit a pair on the turn: {9-Hearts}. Negreanu checked again and Kenney bet 145,000 into 285,000. Negreanu called only to check again on the {J-Spades} river. Kenney took his time before betting 435,000 into 575,000. Negreanu called and mucked.

Hand 20: Cary Katz shoved for 345,000 from the button with {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Big blind Justin Bonomo called with {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and doubled Katz as the board came {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

Hands #11-15: First Walk of the Day and Flopped Trips for Luca

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Hand 11: Bryn Kenney received a walk in the big blind.

Hand 12: Ike Haxton picked up the {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} on the button and raised to 100,000. Cary Katz defended the big blind with the {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and the flop came down {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Katz checked and then called when Haxton bet 65,000.

The {10-Spades} turn saw Katz check again and this time Haxton bet 130,000. That bet worked as Katz once again wound up laying down the best hand.

Hand 13: Haxton held the {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} in the cutoff and raised to 110,000. With that, he won the blinds and antes.

Hand 14: Action folded to Katz on the button and he limped with the {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Daniel Negreanu folded the small blind and Justin Bonoo checked his option from the big with the {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Bonomo checked the {5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop and Katz checked behind, which brought the {K-Spades} on the turn.

Bonomo bet 50,000 and Katz called to see the {Q-Hearts} turn. Bonomo returned to checking and Katz checked behind. Bonomo won it with his pair of fours.

Hand 15: Negreanu raised to 115,000 with the {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} on the button and Ivan Luca called from the big blind with the {k-Hearts}{2-Spades}. The {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop gave Luca trips, and he checked to Negreanu, who continued for 75,000. Luca just called and checked the {9-Diamonds} turn. Negreanu, who turned a gutshot, bet 150,000 and Luca woke up with a check-raise to 475,000. Negreanu folded.

Sam Greenwood Eliminated in 7th Place ($248,720)

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Hand 6: Ivan Luca opened for 110,000 with {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs} but folded to Sam Greenwood's 805,000 shove with {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Hand 7: Isaac Haxton opened under the gun plus one for 110,000 with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. In the hijack, Sam Greenwood called with {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Daniel Negreanu, in the small blind, had the same hand as Haxton and squeezed to 450,000 with {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}.

The big blind folded and Haxton asked how much Negreanu had behind. When he found out it was 2.1 million behind, he called. Action was now on Greenwood and he started counting his chips. He used a time bank card before he let it go.

Negreanu was first to act and bet 275,000 into 1,095,000 on {3-Spades}{K-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Haxton let it go.

Hand 8: Action folded to Justin Bonomo in the small blind and he limped in with {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Ivan Luca in the big blind with {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} shoved all in. Bonomo folded right away.

Hand 9: We missed this hand because of a segment on the stream. Isaac Haxton in the big blind won the hand with {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

Hand 10: Bryn Kenney opened for 110,000 with {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} under the gun. Action folded around to Sam Greenwood in the big blind and he woke up with {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}. With a stack of just 895,000, Greenwood moved in. Kenney wasted no time calling.

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and Greenwood shook hands with Kenney before exiting the tournament room.

Greenwood takes home almost $250,000, the remaining six players are guaranteed $307,940 from here on out.

Hands #1-5: Luca Slips Momentarily Loses Chip Lead, Haxton Gets Near Double

Level 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Hand 1: In the first hand of the day, Sam Greenwood raised to 100,000 UTG+1 with the {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Ivan Luca called from the big blind with the {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. The {4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop saw Luca check and Greenwood continue for 55,000.

Luca called, the dealer burned and turned the {9-Hearts}, and he checked to Greenwood, who bet 120,000. Luca folded and for the first time in a long time slipped out of the chip lead.

Hand 2: Justin Bonomo, the new chip leader, raised to 100,000 with the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} on the button and Ike Haxton called from the big blind with the {k-Hearts}{5-Spades}. The {3-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{7-Spades} flop gave both players top pair, and Haxton checked.

Bonomo bet 80,000, Haxton called, and the dealer burned and turned the {5-Clubs}. Haxton took the lead with two pair and became an 86% favorite. Nonetheless, the action went check-check and the {2-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Haxton bet 770,000, a huge bet into the 420,000 pot, and Bonomo paid it off relatively quickly. With that, Haxton shipped a near double.

Hand 3: Haxton once again looked down at {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and he moved all in from the small blind to put the screws to the short-stacked Greenwood, who had the {k-Spades}{6-Diamonds} in the big. Of course Greenwood didn't know he had the best hand, and he gave it up.

Hand 4: Cary Katz raised to 100,000 under the gun with the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Bryn Kenney called from the big blind with the {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. The {2-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} was no help to either player and Kenney checked. Katz checked behind and the {5-Clubs} appeared on the turn.

Again it went check-check and Kenney paired on the {J-Clubs} river. He still checked it and Katz slid out a bet of 160,000. Kenney thought long and hard before folding the best hand.

Hand 5: Daniel Negreanu raised to 115,000 with the {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} under the gun and Katz called with the {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} in the big blind. The {4-Clubs}{10-Spades}{a-Clubs} flop gave Katz top pair and he checked to Negreanu, who continued for 65,000.

Katz called and then checked when the dealer burned and turned the {9-Diamonds}. Negreanu bet 360,000 and Katz laid down the best hand.
