Andy Avalanche Scores Double Knockout

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Ryan Bredenberg moved all in for 43,000 from early position and LFG Podcast co-host Jamie Kerstetter called off for 38,000 from the cutoff. Andy "Avalanche" Joros was on the button and jammed himself for 83,000, which prompted both blinds to fold.

Joros: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Bredenberg: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Kerstetter: {a-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Joros had the best of it and managed to hold on the {6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} run out to score the double knockout for a smooth $200.

Double Bubble Boys

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Jovanny Jayme
Jovanny Jayme

In a rare occurrence, two players busted from two different tables, meaning they will split the $300 reserved for 24th place.

One hand prior to the bubble bursting, Jovanny Jayme moved all in from the cutoff for around 185,000. Michael Trivett was in the small blind and called off for 170,000.

Jayme: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Trivett: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

It was a massive flip and Jayme took the lead when the {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop paired his ace. However, his lead was short lived as the dealer burned and turned the {q-Clubs} to give Trivett a set. The {4-Diamonds} river was of no consequence and Trivett shipped the double.

In the very next hand, Trivett finished off Jayme after picking up back-to-back pocket queens.

One table over, Dan Brown moved all in for 40,000 holding the {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and was called by Mini Main Event champ John Boriolo, who had the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} in the hole. Brown was looking for some help but failed to get any as the board ran out a lowly {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

With that, both bubble boys headed to the payout desk to collect $150 each.

Mah Doubles on the Bubble

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On the money bubble, Sherman Mah open-ripped his stack of 78,000 and Dan Brown thought long and hard before calling from the big blind.

Mah: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Brown: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

It was a flip but not after the flop came down {9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} to pair Mah. Neither the {5-Clubs} turn nor {k-Clubs} river helped Brown and he sent over all but 12,500 of his chips to his opponent.

Miracle River Rewards Whelan with $100 Bounty

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Teresa Whelan raised to 30,000 from the cutoff and Mitchell Cogert responded by three-betting all in for 137,000 from the button. Both blinds folded and three free-wheeling Whelan made the call.

Whelan: {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Cogert: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop gave Cogert a commanding lead with top two pair, but Whelan did flop a gutshot to Broadway. The {3-Clubs} turn was safe for Cogert, but then disaster struck when the {j-Diamonds} spiked on the river to give Whelan a winning straight.

Cogert exited in 26th place just two spots shy of the money.

Cogert Doubles Through Trivett

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Mitchell Cogert raised to 15,000 from the hijack and Michael Trivett, who had a big stack, responded by moving all in from the small blind. Cogert paused for a few beats and then called off for 80,000.

Cogert: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Trivett: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Cogert was way out in front and locked it up on the turn when the board ran out {3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{k-Clubs}.
