Loncar Doubles Through Patterson

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Michael Loncar
Michael Loncar

After Tyler Patterson raised to 125,000 in the hijack, Michael Loncar moved all in from the cutoff for 990,000.

Action folded back to Patterson who called to put Loncar at risk.

Michael Loncar: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Tyler Patterson: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Patterson had been playing and running well, but he ran into it here.

The board came {7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, bringing no help to Patterson and sending Loncar to dinner break with a healthy double up.

Patterson Shortens Le Further

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

After Lam Le limped in the lojack, Tyler Patterson called in the small blind and Michael Loncar checked his big blind.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Patterson led out for 125,000. Loncar folded, but Le called.

On the {5-Spades} turn, Patterson sprinkled 150,000 more out, which got another call from Le.

The river brought the {5-Clubs} and Patterson bet once more, this time for 200,000.

Le could stand no more and folded as Patterson grew his stack further.

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Tyler Patterson
Tyler Patterson

With approximately 400,000 in the middle on a flop of {j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, Tyler Patterson checked in the small blind, Michael Loncar checked in the big blind, and Toan Nguyen bet 130,000.

Patterson replied with a check-raise to 350,000, which folded out Loncar, but Nguyen came right back with a clickback to 570,000.

Patterson gave his next move some thought, then moved all in for the final 1,300,000 in Nguyen's stack.

Nguyen gave his decision a couple of minutes of thought before finally folding and ceding the pot to Patterson

O'Donoghue Doubles in Dramatic Fashion

Level 24 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Trevor O'Donoghue
Trevor O'Donoghue

After Arthur Tanimoto raised to 100,000 in early position, Trevor O'Donoghue moved all in in middle position for 725,000.

Action folded back to Tanimoto who instantly called.

Trevor O'Donoghue: {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Arthur Tanimoto: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

The flop came {7-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} leaving O'Donoghue drawing even slimmer.

He stood up, said goodbye and gathered his things.

Then the dealer laid out the {6-Diamonds}.

Ooohs and ahhs echoed around the table, then the dealer placed the {3-Clubs} on the river, completing the straight for O'Donoghue and putting a shocked look on his face as he re-took his seat while Tanimoto turned in disbelief at his unfortunate runout.

Cornel Cimpan Eliminated in 10th Place ($19,580)

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Cornel Cimpan
Cornel Cimpan

Cornel Cimpan moved all in for his last 210,000 from the hijack and was called by Brett Murray in the small blind.

Cornel Cimpan: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Brett Murray: {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

Cimpan had Murray dominated, but the way Murray has been running, the result felt inevitable.

The flop came {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, pairing Murray's five immediately. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn soon followed to send the two-time WPT champ to the rail just short of the final table (with the inconsequential {3-Hearts} coming on the river).

The players have now taken a short break as preparations for the final table are made.
