Tanimoto Takes a Huge One From Song

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Arthur Tanimoto
Arthur Tanimoto

With approximately 500,000 in the middle on a turn board of {3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, Arthur Tanimoto moved all in for 625,000 from the cutoff.

Stephen Song, who could do no wrong today deliberated, then made the call.

Arthur Tanimoto: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Stephen Song: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Song had correctly called with top pair to put Tanimoto at risk with one card to come, but the {7-Clubs} on the river put the first log on the track in front of the runaway train that had been Song's day so far.

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Greg Pincombe
Greg Pincombe

Shortly after losing most of his chips to Michael Loncar, the man known as "Spartacus" fell.

Brett Murray open jammed on the button having both blinds covered and was called by Pincombe in the small blind.

Greg Pincombe: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Brett Murray: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Pincombe was in great shape, but the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop gave Murray a flush draw.

The {10-Hearts} changed nothing, but the {2-Clubs} brought home Murray's flush to send Pincombe to the rail.

Loncar Approaching Chip Lead

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Michael Loncar
Michael Loncar

After Greg Pincombe raised in the cutoff and was called by Cornel Cimpan on the button and Michael Loncar in the big blind, the trio went to the flop.

It came {5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Spades} and all three players checked to see the {9-Diamonds} come on the turn.

Loncar now led for 75,000, but got raised to 155,000 by Pincombe.

Cimpan folded, but Loncar made the call.

On the {4-Clubs} river, Loncar bet 150,000 and was instantly called.

Loncar showed {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for trip nines and the winner, while Pincombe flashed an ace before mucking his hand.

Charisse Case

With a bit under 500,000 in the middle on a turn board of {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, Charisse Case moved all in from middle position for 365,000.

Michael Loncar contemplated for a couple of minutes before making the call from the cutoff.

Charisse Case: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Michael Loncar: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Case's kicker was inferior to Loncar's and her flush draw was covered as well.

The {6-Hearts} locked up the hand for Loncar and sent Case home with a five-figure payday after satelliting into the tournament.

Reggie Pears Eliminated in 18th Place ($10,840)

Level 21 : Blinds 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Stephen Song's incredible rise today has reached its peak, as he's gone from the short stack with five big blinds to the chip lead following his elimination of Reggie Pears.

David Ong raised to 75,000 in early position and was three-bet by Toan Nguyen in the hijack. Reggie Pears then four-bet all in for 660,000.

Song then went into the tank in the big blind before cold calling.

Ong folded, and after about five minutes in the tank, so did Nguyen, showing {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

Reggie Pears: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Stephen Song: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

The flop came {7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Spades}, changing nothing, but the {a-Clubs} fell on the turn, eliciting a reaction from Nguyen who would have take n the lead in the hand.

Regardless, the {6-Spades} on the river cinched the hand for Song who crossed the two million chip mark and sent Pears home in 18th place.
