Stevenson Fires River

Level 30 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Norman McKeldin opened to 125,000 from the cutoff and his only call came from Ryan Stevenson in the big blind.

The two saw a flop of {J-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Stevenson check-called a bet of 225,000. Both players tapped the table when the {6-Spades} hit the turn and allowed the {J-Diamonds} to complete the board. Stevenson shot 360,000 into the middle and after about forty-five seconds, McKeldin decided to throw away his cards.

Stevenson tabled the {2-Hearts} and took down the pot.

McKeldin Spikes Ten on Turn To Double

Level 30 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Ryan Stevenson had the button. He made it 100,000 to go and Norman McKeldin called from the big blind.

The flop brought {5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and after a series of raises, McKeldin was all in for his tournament life.

McKeldin: {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Stevenson: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Stevenson was ahead and Norman needed help to stay alive in this tournament. He hit exactly that when the {10-Diamonds} rolled off on the turn, putting him in the lead with two pair. The {A-Clubs} completed the board and McKeldin was able to double to about 1.5 million in chips.

Six-Bet With King-Jack

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Ryan Stevenson opened to 80,000 from the cutoff. Norman McKeldin called from the small blind and Andrew Rothfolk made it 295,000 to go from the big blind.

Stevenson would not be bullied, however, as he slid out a four-bet to 405,000. McKeldin got out of the way quickly and Rothfolk went into the tank. When he came out, he made it 710,000 to go for our first five-bet of the final table.

Thirty seconds passed and Stevenson was dipping into his stack. He slid out a six-bet to 1.28 million total and Rothfolk went back to tanking. Eventually he released his cards, and Stevenson was pushed the pot. Stevenshowed {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} to the table as he scooped in the pot.

Rothfolk Pushing Back

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Ryan Stevenston opened to 80,000 from under the gun and it folded to Andrew Rothfolk in the small blind. He popped it up to 215,000 and Stevenson announced a call.

The dealer fanned {Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} in front of the two and Rothfolk continued for 255,000. Stevenson opted not to go any further and Rothfolk took down the pot.

James Watkins Eliminated in 6th Place ($39,790)

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Ryan Stevenson opened to 80,000 from early position. Action folded all of the way around to James Watkins in the big blind and he counted out a three-bet to 225,000. Stevenson tanked for about a minute before four-betting all in. Watkins called for his tournament life and the cards were tabled.

Watkins: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Stevenson: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

Stevenson needed help to score a knockout and got exactly that when he paired up on the {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop. The {Q-Hearts} on the turn gave Watkins additional outs to make a straight, but nothing materialized as the {3-Clubs} fell on the river.

Watkins will collect $39,790 in tournament winnings for his impressive sixth place finish.

Stevenson Takes a Chunk From Rothfolk

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Andrew Rothfolk opened to 65,000 and Ryan Stevenston three-bet to 180,000. Rothfolk made the call and the flop brought {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Stevenson continued for 185,000 and Rothfolk stuck around.

The two checked the {6-Diamonds} on the turn and when the {9-Hearts} hit the river, Stevenson moved 240,000 into the middle. Rothfolk tank-called but then mucked when Stevenson rolled up {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for top pair.

McKeldin Applying Pressure

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The flop read {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}{A-Hearts} and Andrew Rothfolk and Norman McKeldin were heads up in the hand. Rothfolk led for 65,000 only to have McKeldin raise to 180,000. After about a minute, Rothfolk opted to flat call.

The turn brought the {J-Clubs} and Rothfolk checked. McKeldin fired 165,000 and Rothfolk quickly released his hand.
