Allyn Jaffrey Shulman Eliminated in 8th Place ($28,821)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Allyn Jaffrey Shulman - 8th Place
Allyn Jaffrey Shulman - 8th Place

Allyn Jaffrey Shulman got all her chips in preflop against Ashly Butler.

Butler: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Shulman: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-}

Butler took a commanding lead when the flop came {8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, giving him top set. A {7-Spades} turn opened up a few outs for Shulman, as she now had two gutshot straight draws as well as a low draw that would at least keep her alive with a quarter of the pot. The river was a {q-Diamonds} though, and Butler's set had held up.

Judah Approaching 1 Million

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Action began with Allyn Jaffrey Shulman who raised to 45,000. Action folded around to Mel Judah who made the call from the small blind.

The flop came out {2-Spades}{J-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {8-Spades} on the turn. Judah checked to Shulman who fired off 50,000. Judah called.

The river came down the {8-Hearts} and Judah led out for 125,000. Shulman quickly tossed her hand into the muck without giving it too much thought.

With that, judah looks as if he is close to the chip lead and is approaching the 1,000,000 chip mark.

Judah Hits a Gin Card

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Mel Judah raised to 40,000 under the gun, and Ashly Butler called from the button, as did Brian Hacker in the big blind. The flop came {3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs}, and Hacker checked. Judah bet 100,000, and both opponents called. The turn was the {j-Hearts}, and Judah bet it all when checked to. Butler folded immediately, but Hacker called.

Hacker: {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Judah: {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Hacker had turned two pair to go with his open-ended straight draw and a flush draw. Judah had flopped top pair, and he now had the nut flush draw to go with his nut low draw. The dealer dropped a {7-Hearts} on the river, giving Judah both the nut flush and the nut low. He pumped his fist as the dealer pushed him the large pot.

Alexey Makarov Eliminated in 9th Place ($22,171)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Alexey Makarov
Alexey Makarov

Action began with Brian Hacker who opened to 37,000. Mel Judah called before Alexey Makarov squeezed to 144,000 from the small blind. Hacker called but Judah folded, and the two went off to the flop.

The flop came down {5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and after thinking about it for a bit, Makarov moved all in. Hacker looked at his hand to check his cards and announced a call after that.

Hacker: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Makarov: {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Hacker had flopped a set and it left Makarov drawing extremely thin. The turn was the {K-Spades} ending all matters instantly and that was it for Makarov. The dealer put out the meaningless {4-Clubs} on the river anyways. With that, the man who began the day as the chip leader was sent to the rail in ninth place.

Zaichenko Takes One From Shchmelev

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Action began with a raise from under the gun to 36,000 from Andrey Zaichenko. He was only called by Vladimir Shchmelev.

The flop came down {7-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Zaichenko led for 40,000. Shchmelev called and the two headed to a turn card.

The dealer dropped the {Q-Hearts} and Zaichenko slowed down with a check. That check prompted Shchmelev to fire out 60,000. Zaichenko quickly called.

The river dropped the {4-Clubs} and both players checked. "Aces," Zaichenko said. Shchmelev nodded his head and mucked his cards as Zaichenko turned up {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} to collect the pot.
