Thompson Hits Miracle To Stay Alive

Level 26 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante
Michael Thompson
Michael Thompson

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Action folded to Alex Livingston who opened from the button and received a call from Michael Thompson who defended his big blind. The flop came {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and Thompson check-called Livingston's continuation-bet. The turn came {10-Clubs} and Thompson put his last 115,000 into the pot.

"I call. I have ace-ten," said Livingston as he turned over {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Spades} for a full house, aces full of tens.

Thompson tabled {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and was in need of one of the final two jacks in the deck to stay alive.

The dealer turned over the {j-Hearts} on the river and his prayer was answered as he survived yet another all in to stay alive.

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Daniel Ratigan announced he was all in from early position for his last 80,000. Denis Strebkov called from the cutoff, as did Andrey Zaichenko in the big blind.

The two checked to the river on a runout of {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} when Strebkov bet and got a fold from Zaichenko.

Daniel Ratigan: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Denis Strebkov: {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

Strebkov's three eights was good to beat Ratigan's kings up and he was eliminated from the tournament in 8th place.

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

The two big stacks went to battle in consecutive hands Yuri Dzivielevski and Alex Livingston exchanged thought out pots.

In the first hand Dzivielevski led the betting each time when the board ran out {q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. On the river, Livingston considered the bet before laying it down.

On the next hand it was Livingston who was the aggressor and put out bets each time on a board of {9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Dzivielevski went deep into the tank on the river bet before eventually folding after over a minute.

Livingston fired sixth after having a pair of sevens visible and Strebkov called. On the river, Livingston put in another bet and Strebkov went deep into the tank.

"I think I should fold," Strebkov said after a little over a minute. He then cut out his chips to count out the 415,000 that remained in his stack. He continued to think.

"Sorry, guys," he continued. After about another minute, he eventually folded showing {a-Spades} as one of his down cards and Livingston took down the pot.
