Adam Gets Cooked

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Picking up the action partway through the hand, Adam Cook in the small blind was all in and at risk against Nazar Buhaiov in the cutoff.

Adam Cook: KxKx All in
Nazar Buhaiov: A?A?

Cook had run right into pocket rockets to leave himself drawing thin. The J?7?6? flop kept the aces best with nothing changing on either the 10? turn or J? river to send Cook out in cruel fashion while handing a boost to Buhaiov's stack.

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Philip Chun's stack was eradicated at the hands of Loi Phan as play approaches the dinner break.

The chips were already in the middle and the full board of 9?10?K?4?5? was showing. Chun had tabled Q?Q? but Phan flopped a set with 9?9? which earned him the pot.

Atkinson's Aces Down Kwatra's Ladies

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Joshua Atkinson
Joshua Atkinson

Josh Atkinson raised to 9,000 from early position and Anuj Kwatra called next to act. Jesse Capps, who won his way into the 2024 WSOP Main Event by winning a Charity Series of Poker (CSOP) tournament earlier this year, came along from the cutoff and the player on the button called as well.

Both blinds folded and it was four-way action to a flop of 8?10?8?. Atkinson checked, Kwatra bet 15,000, and both Capps and the button folded. Atkinson then grabbed a stack of green T25,000 chips and put them into the middle. Kwatra had 99,000 behind and thought long and hard before calling off.

Anuj Kwatra: Q?Q? All in
Josh Atkinson: A?A?

Kwatra was behind with pocket queens and watched helplessly as the 7? appeared on the turn followed by the J? on the river.
