Gabay and Frank Lead 14 Players into Day 4 of the Wynn Millions Championship

Day 3 of the $3,500 Wynn Millions Championship has come to an end and Haim Gabay is the chip leader after four 90-minute levels of play. The 14 surviving players will return on Tuesday at 12 p.m. for Day 4 of this five-day event.

A total of 1,180 entries are on record for the championship and they all contributed to a prize pool that surpassed the $3 million guarantee with $3,746,500. Of the 45 players that made it to Day 3, only 14 will move on to Day 4 to play for the top prize of $596,067.

Gabay has the chip lead over Chris Frank, the only other player over six million. Frank held on to the chip lead for most of the day, thanks in part to the double knockout of Joe McKeehen and David Yue.

The rest of the pack caught up to Frank, including [Removed:456] and Jesse Kandola, occupiers of the fourth and fifth spot on the leaderboard, respectively. David Dowdy rounds out the top five and hes followed by Day 2 chip leader Martin Zamani, who surged early in the day but lost a few pots near the end of the night to drift away from the top of the leaderboard.

Day 3 Highlights

Zamani started the day strong after declaring that he had miscounted his chip stack the night before. He quickly made up the difference and then some to extend an early chip lead. Steven Jones also made early noise with a rivered flush to eliminate Shawn Daniels. Jones, the 2023 WSOP Main Event runner-up, will return on Day 4 with the short stack.

Neel Murthy was another early mover with an early pot that sent him near the two-million mark. He knocked out Michael Walshs pocket queens when a nine fell on the river to match his pocket pair.

A big river also brought paydirt for Dowdy, who called Mitch Garshofskys shove in Level 22. Dowdy turned over pocket kings, but Garshofsky was way ahead with aces. The board ran out with a king on the river and Dowdy scored the knockout.

Zamani, Frank, and Anthony Spinella were at the top of the counts as Level 22 came to an end, but Spinella didnt make Day 4 after a knockout just before the two-table redraw.

Jake Ripnick was the first to go with two tables left after his pocket sevens ran into Felicettis pocket kings. Ripnick was crestfallen with the blank runout, but he still pocketed $28,276 for 16th place. Timothy Pai was the other late-night elimination in 15th place for $32,918 when his suited ace-king ran into Dowdys flopped flush.
