Day 4 Highlights

The day started out fast when Steven Jones scored an early double when his king-jack outlasted the king-eight of Martin Zamani. Zamani, the Day 2 chip leader, fell back to the middle of the pack for Day 4.

Paul Hizer was the first to go in 14th place when his ace-ten was no good against Zamanis pocket kings. Jones made his double last one pay jump but he was next to go in 13th when his pocket eights ran into Martins pocket aces.

Murthy was on the ropes early in the day with less than a half-million but he dodged a flush draw to double through David Dowdy with kings and bring some life back into his stack. He doubled again a few moments later when his king-queen caught up to Martins Big Slick. The second double brought Murthy back to life with 1.5 million in chips, and he did not look back from there.

Next to go in 12th was Meerwais Hussaini. Hussaini waited patiently for his spot and saw two players eliminated before him, but his ace-queen wasnt good enough to beat Kandolas kings. In the meantime, Dominick Sarle made a move into the chip lead when his pocket tens beat Kandola for a big pot, but Kandola bounced right back with a big double with Daniel Maor.

Dowdy bowed out in 11th place when Murthy busted him with queens and Zamani ran out of room in 10th place when Murthy took his king-queen out with ace-five. The final nine players redrew for the final table and agreed to continue playing with Murthy as the only player over 10 million in chips.

Jeremy Felicetti left in ninth place when he shoved his short stack with mid-pair. Frank called the very small shove with and rivered a pair of kings to secure the elimination. Right behind in eighth place was Maor and his pocket queens after Ingles put him at risk with aces and brought the tournament to seven-handed play.

Kandola secured a double as Level 27 winded down which left Ingles with very little. The players took another break and agreed to continue playing one more level, or until two more players busted out.

The biggest hand of the night followed soon after when Sarle got a big stack in with pocket aces against the kings of Murthy. Murthys luck continued when he turned a king to jump over 20 million in chips. Ingles was right behind him in sixth when his short stack couldnt improve against Murthy, who scored yet another knockout.

The dust settled with Murthy holding more than half the chips in play. The San Francisco native will return with the opportunity to add significantly to his $1.1 million in live earnings, and an improvement on his 27th-place finish at the WPT World Championship here in June.

The five players will return on Wednesday with 71:46 remaining in Level 28 with blinds at 75,000/125,000/125,000. Play will continue on Wednesday until a winner is declared.
