WSOP Day 23: Daniel Negreanu Returns Third in Chips in $25K PLO HR
As Event #42: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed High Roller wrapped up Day 1, Daniel Negreanu sat third in chips and is now eyeing a deep run in another event. Others still alive in the PLO High Roller include Robert Mizrachi, Brian Rast, and defending champion James Calderaro.
Elsewhere today, Event #34: $1,000 DOUBLE STACK No-Limit Hold'em should reach a winner with Robert Peacock enjoying a big chip advantage, while two-time bracelet winner Ryan Hughes leads the final five players in Event #40: $2,500 Mixed Big Bet .
Event #34: $1,000 DOUBLE STACK No-Limit Hold'em
With only three players remaining, the "Double Stack" should crown a winner on Thursday after a fifth day of play. As mentioned, Robert Peacock leads with a massive chip stack of 38,200,000 followed by Nicholas Salimbene (10,400,000) and Joshua Turner (8,400,000).
This tournament featured 5,700 entries for a prize pool of $5,130,000 and sports a huge first-place payout of $644,224. Check back to PokerNews starting at 12 noon for all the live updates as we find out who of the final three will collect the Event #34 bracelet.
Event #37: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em
This event added a fourth day of play with Eric Baldwin (7,550,000) returning to battle Ian Steinman (2,200,000) heads-up for the title. Baldwin will be looking for his second bracelet after winning his first nine years ago while Steinman seeks his first.
The event attracted 1,330 entries for a prize pool of $1,795,500 and a top prize of $319,580.

Event #39: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout
After the second day in the shootout only 10 players remain out of a field that drew 908 for a $1,225,800 prize pool. Each of those advancing will be hoping to be the last person standing for the bracelet and $236,498 first prize.
After winning two tables, Anthony Reategui takes a narrow chip lead into Thursday with a stack of 672,500. He won this event in 2005 for $269,100. Others returning include Royce Matheson, Alexander Lakhov, and Dylan Linde.

Event #40: $2,500 Mixed Big Bet
The mixed big bet fun continued on Wednesday and only five players made it through to return on Thursday in order to play down to a winner. Scott Bohlman will sit in the top spot when play resumes with 1,556,000 followed by two-time bracelet winner Ryan Hughes (345,500), World Series of Poker Circuit ring winner Daniel Weinman (292,800), Aaron Rogers (261,800), and bracelet winner Marcel Vonk (100,000).
Bohlman has more than $737,000 in career WSOP winnings, but is looking for first bracelet. With a such a significant chip advantage, he looks to be in a prime spot to bring home the title and the $122,138 first prize awaiting the winner.
Day 3 gets underway at 2 p.m. and PokerNews will cover every hand and every game.
Event #41: $1,500 Limit Hold'em
This lower buy-in limit hold'em event attracted 596 entries for a $804,600 prize pool, with 174 players returning on Thursday for Day 2. Brian Vollick will lead the field to start today after bagging up 71,500.
He's followed by Rex Clinkscales (69,900), Kurt Maier (68,200), and Jeremy Heartberg (66,200).
Others returning include Brandon Cantu (23,500), Svetlana Gromenkova (16,800), David Bach (10,800), and Dutch Boyd (8,000).

Event #42: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed High Roller
After the first day of high rolling PLO, 101 players return after 192 jumped in on Day 1. Konstantin Beylin ended the day as chip leader with a stack of 617,500.
Following him are Veselin Karakitukov (549,500), Daniel Negreanu (532,000), Aaron Katz (525,000), George Wolff (504,500), and David Len Ashby (498,500).
Others returning include Chance Kornuth (473,500), Robert Mizrachi (453,000), 2017 fourth-place finisher Artem Babakhanyan (436,000), Chris "BigHuni" Hunichen (374,000), Scotty Nguyen (347,500), Jason Koon (325,000), Brian Rast (312,500), Paul Volpe (258,500), defending champion James Calderaro (234,500), and Tommy Le (230,000).
Players are allowed one re-entry and late registration is allowed through the second level on Day 2. The high rolling Day 2 resumes at 2 p.m. and PokerNews will have you covered for all the live updates.
Event #43: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em
Another hold'em event will get underway in the Rio on Thursday, kicking off at 11 a.m. This three-day event features 60-minute levels with late registration allowed through the first eight levels. Players will begin with 12,500 starting chips in this mid-price point tournament.
Gaurav Raina took home the bracelet in this event a year ago, earning $456,822 for doing so. Check back with PokerNews for all the big hands from Event #43.
Event #44: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship
Finally, this big buy-in triple draw event should attract quite a few pros. Players begin with 50,000 starting chips and late registration is available until the beginning of Day 2. The event features 60-minute levels.
Ben Yu took home the title in 2017, earning $232,738 and his second bracelet.
Play begins at 3 p.m. today, and PokerNews will be there from the start for all the important discards and draws.
