WSOP Day 40: Hallaert Bags Big in Little One, Ivey Makes Day 4 of ME

As the WSOP Main Event moves into Day 4, plenty of action remains including the Little One for One Drop, where 2016 November Niner Kenny Hallaert sits among the chip leaders after the first flight. In the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em, Longsheng Tan leads the final six players returning on Sunday to finish it out.

Matt O'Donnell leads the final 10 players in a fourth day of play in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty. In the Main Event, several big names return for Day 4 including 10-time bracelet winner Phil Ivey.

The $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Handed also gets underway on Sunday.


Event #65: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em MAIN EVENT - World Championship

A combined Day 3 finally got all remaining players in one field on Saturday with 2,786 returning. That field was whittled down to 1,182, who will all return for the fourth day of play. The winner will take home the bracelet and $8.81 million.

All those remaining have now reached the money and will at least take home a min-cash of $15,000. Leading the field is In Sun Geoum with 1,696,000 in chips, followed by Frank Flowers (1,624,000), Alexander Wong (1,431,000), Samuel Bernabeu (1,418,000), Eric Sfez (1,390,000), Michael Lavenburg (1,356,000), and Julius Malzanini (1,292,000).

Others still alive in the field include Barbara Enright (1,260,000), Eric Froehlich (1,235,000), Ben Yu (1,040,000), Paul Volpe (989,000), 888poker Ambassador Chris Moorman (969,00), Dan Heimiller (945,000), Barry Hutter (908,000), and Ralph Perry (905,000). Ten-time bracelet winner Phil Ivey was also among those bagging big, with 827,000 chips.

Event #66: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em

A fourth day of play was added to this event with Day 2 chip leader Longsheng Tan leading the final six who return on Sunday. Behind him are Adam Laskey (2,345,000), Jayaram Kovoorchathoth (1,660,000), Lanny Levine (1,175,000), Stephen Bierman (1,035,000), and Trey Brabham (590,000).

A real estate agent from Alhambra, California, Tan has just over $36,000 in WSOP winnings and looking for his first bracelet. A top prize of $323,472 will be awarded to the winner. Event #67: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty

After the second day of play, only 10 remain from 125 players who returned Saturday. Matt O'Donnell leads the unofficial final table with 985,000 chips. Following him are Anderson Ireland (864,000), Jameson Painter (834,000), Hai Chu (903,000), and Michal Mary?ka (633,000).

O'Donnell has $1.1 million in WSOP winnings and looking for his second bracelet. His first came in 2015 in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em event for $551,941. Event #68: The Little One for One Drop - $1,000 +111 No-Limit Hold'em

After Flight 1A in this event, just 194 found a bag and moved on to Day 2 after a total of 947 entries. The number generated an $852,300 prize pool during this first flight.

Leading the field was Alberto Rodriguez (141,400), followed by Kenny Hallaert (131,900), Beka Iordanishvili (127,300), Richard Kirsch (125,000), and Leamond Mcgriff (122,000). Also sitting in the top 10 are Phil Laak (118,300) and Calvin Anderson (117,300).

Other notables making it through to Day 2 include Robert Damelian (112,400), David Peters (95,300), Erik Cajelais (93,500), Sorel Mizzi (82,900), Martin Finger (73,800), 888 Ambassador Dominik Nitsche (29,400), Scott Bohlman (25,700), and David "ODB" Baker (25,600).

This event offers poker players a chance to give back to the One Drop Foundation charity. The organization offers fresh water service to third-world countries. The event features three starting flights on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Players begin with 5,000 starting chips and can earn an extra 5,000 for a $111 donation. Levels last 60 minutes, and late registration is available for eight levels.

Event #69: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Handed

Get your game face on as more PLO returns to the Rio, with a bumped-up buy-in that should make for a nice prize pool. Players will be starting with 15,000 chips and will be allowed one re-entry. Levels will last 60 minutes with late registration allowed for the first eight levels. Luis Calvo won this event in 2017 for his first bracelet and the $320,193 top prize. PokerNews will have all the pot-raising action, so don��t miss a hand.
