Therme Wins Big Pot with Aces

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

After an initial raise of 2,500, Jonathan Therme three-bet in middle position to 7,500. The player called from under the gun.

On a {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop, Therme made a continuation bet for 4,000. His opponent called.

His opponent led the {6-Spades} turn for 10,000 and Therme made a raise to 32,000. The opponent called.

The {10-Spades} river was checked by the player in early position, who instantly called off his entire stack when Therme announced all-in for 85,000.

Under the Gun: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Jonathan Therme: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Therme now has one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Werner Correctly Puts Opponent on Bluff but Still Loses

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Haven Werner opened to 3,000 from middle position and Mike Dollins called from the small blind.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Werner continued for 4,000. Dollins called.

The {3-Clubs} put three clubs on the board and both players tapped the table.

The {10-Spades} completed the board and Dollins put out a bet of 11,000. Werner sniffed out a bluff and called with king-high.

However, the Canadian's {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} was out-pipped by Dollins' {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Dollins still took down the 38,400-chip pot.

Brewer Close To The Top

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action was caught on the river of a {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades} board.

JJ Liu checked and Kevin Brewer bet 7,000. After some consideration, she called and mucked when Brewer showed {a-Spades}{3-Spades} for trip aces.

There are not that many big stacks in blue section of the Bally's Ballroom, but Brewer's stack is certainly one of them.

Caballero's Ace-King Comes from Behind to Scoop Pot

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In the last hand before the break, Mexican pro Jerson Backmann Caballero found himself in an all-in pot with dead money in the middle.

Caballero opened from early position for 3,000, the cutoff called, and the button moved all-in for 19,000.

After Caballero called, the cutoff folded.

Button: {k-}{q-}
Jerson Backmann Caballero: {a-}{k-}

Caballero fell way behind when the flop came {q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} but surged back in front when the {a-Clubs} appeared on the turn.

The {5-Clubs} graced the river and Caballero surged to nearly double the starting stack.

The cutoff showed before folding that he had a pair of sixes, which would have flopped a set.

After a raise to 3,000 from a player in late position, Jeff Howell called from the button. In the blinds, Baebae Liu raised all-in for almost 50,000. While the initial raiser folded, Howell quickly called for the rest of his stack.

Jeff Howell : {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Baebae Liu : {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran {5-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Howell was eliminated.

Wang Nearing 300,000 After Latest Win

Level 9 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

With the pot already at 30,000 on a {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} board, Lu Wang checked from late position, the hijack checked, and the cutoff bet 10,000.

Wang raised to 33,000 and only the cutoff called.

On the juicy {8-Clubs} river that completed a flush draw and made four to a straight, Wang continued for 30,000 more but did not get a call from the cutoff.

With the pot, Wang is just a hair under the 300,000 mark.
